Bath Terrace

Period 1920s Home Renovation - Gosforth

This Gosforth home renovation focused on modernising a traditional 1920s lounge while preserving its original character. The design balances period details with contemporary comfort, creating a warm, inviting space for modern family life. Carefully selected furniture, layered lighting, and a refined colour palette ensure the room feels timeless, elegant, and perfectly suited to both everyday living and entertaining.

  • The client wanted to honour the beautiful original features of their 1920s Gosforth home while introducing modern comfort and functionality. The space needed to feel warm, welcoming, and practical for everyday family use without losing its period charm.

  • We used thoughtful spatial planning and a warm, Arts and Crafts–inspired palette to complement original features such as stained glass and decorative detailing. Carefully selected furniture and subtle contemporary touches bring balance, resulting in a sophisticated yet comfortable living space.

  • The balance between old and new is the highlight. Original architectural details are enhanced rather than overshadowed, allowing the space to feel authentic, characterful, and effortlessly liveable.
